The student works one-on-one with a professional tutor in a secure web environment using your existing computer, web browser and broadband Internet connection - no special equipment or software is needed.

 

The students get to communicate naturally with the tutor over the internet. When they have a question - all they need to do is ask. It is just like having personal tutor at home.

 

Using the virtual whiteboard workspace both tutor and student draw and write to share problems, solutions and explanations, and work with simulations and animations to maximize learning.

 

Our sessions are just like working face to face with a tutor. They are just more convenient and rewarding!

 

How to get started

 

 

All you need is:

 

• A headset with a microphone

• A broadband Internet connection

• Your Personal Computer/Laptop

Students and tutors both speak to each other directly through their headsets. A shared interactive “whiteboard” allows them to work together on problems, explain and demonstrate solutions and strategies, and edit writing.

 

Personalized Tutoring Sessions

 

In order to figure out how best to help, tutors need to understand a student’s strengths and weaknesses. Oz Tutor’s tutoring process often begins with an assessment test to formulate a personalized instruction plan. This will highlight/ pinpoint the areas in which a student needs help in order to succeed academically. Tutors monitor student progress throughout the school year, assist with daily homework, book reports or long term assignments, and help students prepare for upcoming tests. Tutors will support the student in the school curriculum and provide enrichment or remedial work as needed.

 

Progress Reports

 

As a parent, you’ll get detailed progress reports on a regular basis to make sure you are in the loop. Also, all sessions can be recorded for later use as a study tool or review. Of course, a picture is worth thousand words. Parents may access the live session and observe the proceedings by prior arrangement with our admin staff.
